Coming Soon…The Black Girls Create Anthology

We’re excited to announce that we are partnering with Wizards in Space Literary Magazine to bring you the Black Girls Create Anthology, a collection of fiction and poetry celebrating magic and community written by Black writers.

Our two crews have been partnering on podcasts, panels, and readings for a while, so this was a natural next step. This digital anthology will center around a theme of Magic & Community and feature (and pay!) Black voices with fantastical fiction, stories, and poems. With selections from Black Girls Create members and beyond, we can’t wait for you to read works from our community that makes magic every day.

Want to Submit?

Yes, we’re talking to YOU.

For this anthology, we are looking for fantasy fiction and poetry with magical elements by Black people. This includes folks from both the African continent and the diaspora, mixed and multiracial, and of any gender identity or orientation.

Want to Support?

There are many ways you can support us in making this project a wonderful addition to your digital library.

  1. PRE-ORDER! This helps us pay everyone involved *something* for their efforts.
  2. SPONSOR A WRITER! Every. Single. Writer. Gets. Paid. You can explicitly help with that.
  3. TIP US! All funds go to paying our writers and the team putting this anthology together.

You can do one (or more) of these things here.

Thanks to Wizards in Space for shepherding us through this process. We appreciate their commitment to uplifting marginalized voices, and their support of us as we work to do the same. We also want to thank our amazing community for making this feel even remotely possible. You’re all magic.

Be sure to watch this space and be ready for our anthology in February 2021!
